About SkinIndex
SkinIndex is a search service for skincare products, run from Finland. We sell nothing. We read ingredient lists, tell you what is in them, and send you to a store that sells the product.

Why this exists
Buying a skincare product is unusually hard. The front of the box sells a promise, the back carries a list of thirty Latin words, and most recommendation pages are the same affiliate links in a different order. The information you would need to choose does exist; it is just in a form nobody has the patience to read.
SkinIndex does one thing: it reads that list for you, with the same rules every time, and shows you the rules.
How we make money
We earn a commission if you buy a product through our links. It is our only source of income, so it is worth saying clearly what it does not affect: the commission has no effect on the classification, on the order of results, or on what we write about a product. The classification is made by a rule engine that knows nothing about the stores' commission rates.
What we are not
SkinIndex is not a medical service and gives no advice on treatment. We do not diagnose anything, and we make no promise that a product will change any skin condition. If a skin problem is long-lasting or painful, see a dermatologist: they can answer what an ingredient list cannot.
Where the data comes from
Product details and ingredient lists come from online stores in Finland: their affiliate feeds and their own product pages. Prices come from the stores named below. For every product we show where its ingredient list came from and when it was last updated, including when the answer is “we have not verified this yet”.
Where the prices come from
The prices on the English site come from two Finnish online stores, Lyko and Cocopanda, and are shown in euros: the same prices a shopper in Finland sees. We never convert them into another currency.
Cocopanda delivers only to addresses in mainland Finland, not to the Åland Islands, and asks for a Finnish phone number. Lyko's terms list delivery to Finland (not the Åland Islands), Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, the Netherlands, Austria, and Germany, with orders shipped from Sweden. Neither store delivers to the US or the UK, so check the store's own delivery terms before you plan a purchase.
