Ingredient list checker
Paste a product's ingredient list to see the same markings as on our product pages: what the list contains, what it doesn't, and which names we don't recognize.
How to use the checker
Copy the ingredient list from the pack or a store page and paste it in the field, separated by commas as on the pack. There is no photo recognition, so the list has to be text. We don't store your list: it is read, the result is shown and the list is forgotten.
Questions about the checker
What does the checker read?
The ingredient names and their order. We match the names against the same vocabularies we use to classify the products in our catalog: six flag groups and the key ingredients. A list doesn't state concentrations, so we don't know them.
Why is an ingredient unknown?
The name isn't in our vocabulary. Often it's a spelling variant, a trade name or a rare plant extract. An unknown name doesn't change the flags, so look it up yourself if it matters to you.
Is the result a safety or suitability rating?
No. The result shows what the list contains and which published groups its ingredients match. It doesn't say how a product will work on your skin. How we classify
How do I share a result?
After a check, the page address carries the list in compressed form. Copy the link and whoever opens it sees the same result. The list travels in the link, not on our server.
